I've been torn on whether I should post this or not, but I decided I should because this blog is a not only a way for us to document the growth of our children, but to keep those that care and love our children updated as well. Shannon got a call from the doctor that delivered both of our boys the other day. He was checking in to see how things were going. During the course of the conversation, he advised Shannon that "I think we saved that little boy's life". Shannon was taken aback by that comment and inquired about further clarification. He said he was concerned that he delivered Austin too soon and had conversations with other doctors after the fact to obtain other opinions. Apparently after explaining the situation to other colleagues, each asked "Did the child make it?" I don't think WE had any idea how "concerning" Austin's situation really was while he was in the womb. Now everything we have gone through, and are going through, seems trivial. We are a truly blessed family and I now have reinforcement that everything is going to be fine. If it isn't, we will still find a way to forge forward and will appreciate having our boys around a little bit more (if that's possible) than we might have prior to this conversation. If you are reading this and have children, or just younger people that you are close to, appreciate what you have. It's not an "entitlement", it's a blessing. Enjoy your day!

School just sent us this picture. Apparently Jaden is taking this Swine Flu thing a bit too far. They only said you needed to wash your hands. I guess he was tracing his foot with markers and then was directed to go wash his foot off. Well, here's one way to do it! That's my boy!
