What was 2006 to me? That's a good question. The easiest answer is...The best year of my life! The challenging part is explaining to you; "Why?". Well, it is a cornucopia of things. The most obvious one is the birth of our child, Jaden! He is the reason for this blog and the reason for everything we do now. He is the greatest blessing of our lives. The other things, you may or may not already know. Shannon and I celebrated our second year of marriage, which in itself has been a wonderful ride. I don't know how or why I was "allowed" the opportunity to marry such a wonderful person, but I thank my lucky stars everyday. She is my best friend and an unbelievable mom. (Editor's note: My mom is still the "best mom", but I'm fairly biased ;-). Love you bunches Grandma Karen!!) We both had a very good year at work, and are still employed, which to me constitutes a "very good year". Additionally, we have been back in Indy for a year now, as of November, and have been reunited with our family and friends. Although there are times......Lots of times......That
I miss living in Florida, having our family and friends around has made raising the little Guy SO much easier, and we thank you for all of your assistance. On our last vacation to Florida, we actually bought a timeshare in Jupiter and will be vacationing there the first week of June for a long time to come. If we didn't get such a GREAT deal, we would have never bought one, but the price was right and the resort is everything we look for on a vacation. Jaden will have wonderful times there and I can't wait to see how he likes it this year. We have had a wonderful time furnishing the house, having people come by to visit, and have even hosted a few holidays. It's truly a blessing to have a
home. Another thing that probably doesn't seem like a big deal to most of your reading this North of the Mason-Dixon line, is that we got to see the seasons change for the first time in two years. I can't say that watching winter roll in is my favorite event, but it is a season change nonetheless. We have had a few unfortunate events, but overall it has been an incredible 365 days. I do realize that I am running a little long here, so I will just conclude by saying we love each of you and we appreciate everything you all have brought into our lives. It may be the babysitting, the phone calls, the support, the love, the advice, the friendship or just your valuable time that you spend reading this blog. It has been a wonderful 2006 and we sincerely wish that 2007 is blessed and prosperous for your and yours!
The JDab Family.....
