The Tubes

All went well with Jaden's surgery today. We were in and out in about 30 minutes and the actual procedure only took about 10 minutes. Jaden was a little fussy when he got out and was happy to have his bottle there, since he hadn't eaten since 7:30 last night. He is sleeping now and it seems as though everything is good. We leave for Orlando in the morning, but I will try to update the site while we are gone. Have a good weekend!

Under Pressure

Hey everyone. We just got back from the ENT doctor's office and it looks like Jaden will be going in for an ear tube procedure on Thursday morning. Ear tubes have come a long way since the old days and I thought I would show you a picture of how small they are now. Jaden will be getting the ones there on the left side of the penny. He will be sedated for about 10 minutes, have the tubes inserted and the whole process only takes about 30 minutes. This will relieve the pressure he has from the liquid build up behind his ear drum, and also help him when we are on the plane on Friday. The doctor said once the tubes are in he won't get the pressure build up that you sometimes get upon take off and landing on a plane. Obviously this has nothing to do with us getting the tubes put in, but it's a nice benefit. Come to think of it, my ears always build up pressure on flights. I wonder if I can have them put in my ears as a convenience??? Anyway, I'll give you an update on Thursday as to how things went. Have a great week.

1st in the NL Central

Well, we went to St. Louis this weekend to visit Shannon's side of the family, so Jaden thought he would wear the Cardinals outfit he was given by Grandpa Shaun and Grandma Laurie Jo. In fact, he is on their deck in this picture in his exersaucer. He LOVED being outside there and had fun with their dogs as well. We got to do a little visiting with the extended family and even got to visit "mammaw" at the nursing home. She is in her 90's and still going strong. It was really nice to meet her and the other relatives that we went to visit on Saturday as well. Everyone was very accommodating and they all seemed to like Jaden. We had a great time and are really looking forward to our next visit. Go Cards!
