Low....Low.....Low....

"Welcome Child Protective Services!!!"

(I think I will just have a vinyl banner made with this slogan to put on the front of our house. It will be like the month of May here with all of the "Welcome Race Fans" feel to it!)

I'd like to insert a joke here, but I don't have one. Shannon told me that when she was listening to this song on the radio, he started singing "Low, Low, Low". Obviously that was enough for me to download it to my phone and enjoy the results. I'm "fairly" certain that this is NOT recommended parenting for a two year old. However, how do you like those moves??? Chicks dig a guy that can try to dance!! There is NO doubt he is MY son!!! You da man, JDab! You da man!

Too Connected???

I think I finally realized how ridiculous I am when it comes to technology. I've always been a huge fan of electronics and computers and such, but I think I might have reached a new low. As I sit here on the deck tonight I realize everything that I have going on at this moment. I am surfing the web, while watching the NBA Finals on my laptop via my Slingbox that is connected to my DirecTV receiver upstairs in my office. I am accessing all of this on a wireless connection, while my wife is in bed on her laptop as my son tries to go to sleep. Every once in awhile we IM each other to say hello or to see if anything is needed. If that weren't bad enough, I also have my cell phone next to me in case any calls or text messages come through. Oh, and I have my 9.6Mhz cordless home phone sitting here as well. I almost need a freaking backpack to come out to my deck to RELAX! The most humorous, and somewhat pathetic, fact about the whole event is that this IS relaxing to me. I've come a long way from the days of listening to an AM radio with a single earphone or watching the 13" black and white tv we had growing up. Oh, and we had a rotary phone as well. I'm sure there are several of you reading this........my nephews.......that will never experience any of those things. I have one thing to say to you.......YOU ARE SO LUCKY!!! Enjoy your day!

Best Father's Day Present Ever!

Shannon gave me an awesome Father's Day gift (as you can read below), but Jaden went and "one-upped" her. He made me this incredible picture frame at school, with a picture of him making it in the frame. THIS is what it is all about! Thanks buddy, I love it!!!

Indy Jazzfest

Shannon, being the most incredible wife that she is, took me to the Indy Jazzfest on Saturday as my father's day present. One of my favorite artists, John Legend, was headlining. We were staying at the Omni and we found out that all of the artists were staying there too. It was just a coincidence b/c Shannon looked at a bunch of different places for us to stay. In any event, we were hanging out after the show and sure enough John Legend showed up and was hanging out with some of his family that had come over from Ohio. He was a genuinely nice guy and allowed us to take pictures with him. Additionally it was a great show and a GREAT time!

Yeah, my picture is blurry and I had really bad red eye. I think Shannon was sabotaging my picture, because as you can plainly see below her picture was perfect!

Not sure I like him putting his hands on my wife, but I guess I'll let it slide this time. ;-)

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!

Happy Father's Day!
(You know who you are!)
Love Jaden, Shannon and Guy
