Hospital Visit

I'm sure several of you know that we had to go to the Hospital last night because they thought they might have to induce Shannon. Well, 24 hours later, lots of poking, prodding and evaluating done and we were sent home. It appears that the little one is very, very close to arrival, but needs a few more days to develop his lungs. I would anticipate that he will be here a little later in the week, but you never know with these things. I'll keep everyone posted! Thanks for all of the concern, good wishes and assistance. You know who you are! Have a great weekend!

A New Low for Daddy

It's official. Daddy has hit a new low in his child rearing escapades. Yesterday was the worst day I have ever had trying to "manage" Jaden. He was an absolute Holy Terror all day long. He was placed in time outs, had toys taken away and even received a slap on the bottom. In response to those actions he acted respectively: laughed at the time out and kept getting up and running around; tried to hit and bite me to get his toys back; and laughed and laughed at me in relation to the "spanking". I use spanking lightly, as it was more a slap on the bottom than what I would consider a true spanking. Finally, I decided he was going to his room. I put him in his room, locked the door and had the door handle cover on there so he couldn't get out. Each time I did this, he got out and came right back into the room in which I was located laughing and smiling. Well, here is where the new low surfaced. I placed him back in his room and "pennyed" him in. For those of you not familiar with this term, it's based on a practical joke we used to do to people in college. If you have a door that opens inward, you take a few pennies and slide them up between the frame and the door close to the doorknob. This puts enough pressure on there that you can not turn the knob to open the door. Again, I know it's a new low, but in my defense, it DID work! That little $*%# couldn't get out. DADDY WINS!!!
(Petty? Yes. Pathetic. Perhaps....But I win! HA!)
Enjoy your week!
