It's a new day....

So I was making dinner for the family tonight, since I AM the primary cook of the household. Jaden likes to "help" me out when I'm in the kitchen so he was up on the counter helping me get some of the food together. We were talking about mommy coming in to help us cook, since she was sitting on the couch, and he laughed and said "Dat's silly daddy, girls don't cook". So much for the traditional nuclear family at OUR house!

Update: Jaden saw this post picture since he is sitting next to me and JUST said "Mommy don't cook daddy, dat's weird!" Then said "Only daddies cook".

Getting the nursery together!

Well mommy decided today was a good day for us to paint the nursery. As you can see it used to be Jaden's "playroom" and there's still a lot of toys in the room. We are doing the room in a jungle theme. Should be cool when it's done!

Oh, the radio on the table is the one I put in Jaden's room. He came in a said it was his. I said "No, this is daddy's radio". He said he had one just like it and told me to come to his room to see it. When he got into the hallway, he looked back and forth at his room and this room and was perplexed. He finally figured out that I had "HIS" radio, as nothing is really daddy's anymore, but was kind enough to let me borrow it.

As I was instant messaging a buddy of mine tonight, I realized something pathetic. I rarely converse with anyone over the phone anymore. Were I to need to call someone via a pay phone (which I'm not certain even exist anymore), I don't think I would know the number. I can probably recall my mom and dad's phone number and perhaps my home phone, but that's it. I remember when I was younger, I could recite 10 - 15 different phone numbers by rote. Not any longer. Now I have my cell phone and computer to recall numbers and email addresses for me. In fact, in all reality, I don't even like talking to people on the phone. Without email, IM and Facebook, I probably would have a LOT of friends that I would only talk with once or twice a year. Now I talk to people every minute, day, week, month and second. I can not even imagine what it is going to be like for Jaden growing up. He will probably grow and end relationships via a text message. I'm not certain that technology is a "good thing" in all aspects, but what the hell do I know? I would post more, but I need to update my FaceBook page, finish talking to some friends from college online and reply to some silly texts that I haven't had time to address.....Enjoy your day! ;-) LOL. WTF? BRB.
