Jaden's Doctor Visit - Growth Update

Greetings, all. This is a picture of Jaden on his one month birthday! Can't wait to see his one month and four day picture. Just kidding, I promise, I won't be "that Guy". Anyway, we went for Jaden's one month checkup yesterday and the doctor was pleased with his progress. He has grown one whole inch, which takes him up to 20.5 inches in length. The doctor says he is a long one, and I advised him that "golfers can be tall", so no problem there. However, I hope he doesn't get too tall, b/c if he has the speed of his father, he will be one slow basketball player. As for weight, he has gained over a pound. He was born at 6lbs 1oz and he weighed in at 7lbs 4oz at the doctor's office, which is excellent. I guess if he gets tall and fat we could look into Sumo Wrestling......maybe I should start him on the Baby Einstein "Japanese Language Lessons" just in case we need to pursue that route. Well, that's all for now. Sayornara!

Video????

I'm not sure if this will work or not, but I thought I would give it a try. I'll take this down if I find out it doesn't work. If it does work, you will be able to see a short video of Jaden. Wish me luck!

Video of Jaden (Click Here)

You will need Quicktime to view this. It is about 17MB, so it will take a minute to load.

Something is intriguing

I have NO idea what he is looking at in this picture, as he is on the floor of my office and the only thing in the general direction of his gaze are some files. However, it seems like he likes it and he is not crying, so all is well in the universe. :-)

ROLE MODEL? Who.....ME???

It hit me like a ton of bricks today. I was holding Jaden in my arms while he looked up at me and thought to myself "Oh my God, I have to be a role model to this kid!" Now those of you that know me pretty well, should understand my concern. After all, I was never asked to be the poster boy for the "Good Decision Making Skills" campaign. I have probably logged more hours on a barstool than in a church pew, and due to allocating my hours that way have made several hundred other poor decisions as well. I'm going to have to tell him to always wear your seatbelt, even though 85% of the time, I don't. I am going to have to tell him that gambling is wrong, yet have to explain why I am yelling at the television when the Browns are playing the Lions knowing darn well that I could care less about either team. I am going to have to tell him that "we" don't cuss, even though I had to erase three profanities while writing this blog and I probably use the "F" word in sentences more frequently than most people use prepositions in them. How am I ever going to teach him the right things when I have spent most of my life doing the wrong ones? Ah, I got it...I'll do the one thing I do better than anyone.....I'll lie. ;-)

Jaden's new "recliner"

Here is Jaden's newest chair. Grandma Libby got this for him and it is the perfect size for the little guy. It also vibrates and plays music, which are two of Jaden's favorite features for enhancing his sleeping enjoyment. And remember, when Jaden is happy, mom and dad are happy! And when Jaden is sleeping and not screaming, daddy is very, very happy....
