Audi 5000 G

The Audi is back on the road. $2200 later and a new valve body in the transmission and I am all set. In all honesty, I truly expected it to be a much better driving experience than it was prior to the breakdown. However, I am disappointed to report, that it now drives EXACTLY as it did prior to the "situation". It just doesn't seem right. :-(

The 3 I's

Something just hit me this evening, as I was looking at the picture of Jaden as my "wallpaper" on my computer. Our parents weren't this lucky. We have the "luxury" of digital cameras, camcorders, and cell phones with recording ability. They may have had pictures that were taken, may or may not have been developed, and who knows how many times they viewed them. In all honesty, the only time I recall looking through pictures growing up was when there was a reason we had to look at them or we were moving stuff around we happened across the photos. It's not right, wrong or indifferent....it just "was". In any event, when I see a picture like this, as I do daily, I think: Innocence, Ignorance and Indifference.......I long for those days, but I feel blessed that I understand the value in those feelings. I hope I can be one of the catalysts that helps Jaden to realize the power in those feelings and what they can do to change things...................

The Gathering on the Fourth

We had a few people over on the Fourth. We cooked out, watched fireworks and just had a good time. Here are a few pictures from the gathering.

Some of the food daddy made for the cookout. I made ribs, wings, hot dogs, hamburgers, grilled chicken and brats. Way too much food, but I'll be eating it all week. The ribs were goooooood!
