So as most of you know by now, Jaden got his first haircut recently. However, what you may not know is that there is an evil, evil plot between Cookie Cutters, BabiesRUs and the diabolical Chick-Fil-A empires. You see, Cookie Cutters is right next door to BabiesRUs with Chick-Fil-A in the parking lot. Now at first, I'm sure you are like, "So?". Here is the deal. When we went to get the little Guy's haircut, they said it would be a 45 minute wait. We thought, okay, we will go to Chick-Fil-A while we were waiting and have lunch. Little did we know that Chick-Fil-A is CLOSED on Sunday. What freaking restaurant is closed on a SUNDAY in the out lot of a shopping center???? I digress. Now what were we to do? We had already committed to the haircut, which he needed badly, yet we had no time to go elsewhere to eat. Well, we moseyed on over to BabiesRUs to "look" at gates for the stairs. Forty minutes later, we left with two gates, some other miscellaneous items and a $380 hutch for the top of Jaden's dresser / changing table. Yeah, we may have needed the gates and other items, and eventually we were going to have to get him a bookshelf of some sort anyway, but I was just out for some freaking chicken (maybe some waffle fries) and a haircut and ended up with a $400 bill. Here's a picture of Jaden's new hutch, which I'm sure will eventually become his own personal climbing wall, and it actually looks pretty good. Hopefully this is the last piece of furniture we have to purchase for his room, or I am going to have to knock out a wall to the fourth bedroom and expand into it for him. Anyhow, I guess the moral to the story is don't go out looking for chicken (with the possibility of waffle fries) and a haircut on Sunday, as you'll only end up with a haircut and an empty wallet........Enjoy your Tuesday!Tuesday, February 27, 2007

Weekend Update
I didn't get any pictures of the little Guy this weekend, but I will try to do that this week. The weekend was pretty low key, but Jaden had a lot of fun. He is walking around very, very well now. Still looking a bit like "Frankenstein", but really starting to get the hang of it. He seems like he is also close to putting some real words together. He has been dropping the "bye-bye's" a little bit and has "momma" and "dada" down pretty good as well. He is having a bit of a rough transition to the one year old room at school, but I'm sure it will get better each day. I think it is actually harder on mommy than Jaden, but it's still been a bit rough on him as well. He is also dealing with a little "bully" at school that likes to push him down and take his toys. I am going to work on some "self-defense" techniques with him this week after school. I'm thinking something out of the movie "Roadhouse" where the guy rips out the bad guy's throat with his bare hands. How cool would that be if Jaden did that at school. I bet no one else would mess with him again! ;-) Anyway, all is well with the family and I'll get some pictures / videos up soon. Have a great week!
